Verdict Research: Annual Forcasting Health&Beauty 2014 in reference to Skincare

The health and beauty sector will be driven by the growth in mens toiletries and skincare

We will see beauty products being sold in grocers because of the convenience and the link to pharmacies.

Because of this, specialist retialers are going to find it more difficult to bring consumers into their store.

'Premiumisation trend will continue, particularly in haircare, skincare and mens toiletries as they become more willing to spend on their looks.'
(Premiumisation is the creation of an ultra-luxury version of a product or brand.)

Innovation is a key volume growth in skincare, cosmetics and haircare. For beauty products, the internet will become very important compared to where it is now.

The older populations will be concered about vitamins and anti-aging creams as well as the chemicals contained in beauty products.

Because of the UKs ageing population, beauty consumers will continue to spend money on luxurious products and will not consider 'trading down.'

With Topshop opening up a beauty line, we will see other retailers who sell clothing, open up beauty lines. This is where other speciality beauty retailers will see a decline because specialty retailers are not convientient for the consumer.

Male Skin Care Emerging

Skin Care was once only marketed towards women since hey,we thought women were the only consumers. Lately we have seen men diving into the market and buying skin care products. Men are now more conscious of their skin and spend more time looking in the mirror. Since of this lately emerging phenomenon companies are producing skin care lines just for men. This includes branding the product specifically for men and their lifestyles.
